Skyscraper architecture rendering

VizAcademy UK 2021-10-22 10:55 tutorial  > 3ds MAX  > modeling

3ds Max + Corona - a webinar by VizAcademy UK.

During this webinar, you will learn how to model, lit, and add materials to a SkyScrapper.

You can create a free account and download a model here.

Workflow goes as follows:

First, you model skyscrapper (as main body) and make a separte copy to be used later. Then you  set camera perspective. You apply "section" onto the "Main body" and convert sections to "editable poly". On this step you make a spare copy to be used later before converting it to editable poly. After that you need to weld all vertex of "section" and apply shell modifier, which will give thickness to each floor.

The next step is to apply subdiv modifier onto main body. Then select all polygons of main body, and detach the top and down floors (roof and ground level). Select all "edges" of subdiv applied modifier (you will need to apply edit poly modifier) and detach frame and glass panels. Apply shell on frames. Set the environment, use Corona scatter (to add details like lights and trees). After that you can  apply Materials. (Water, Ground, Glass and Frames), add Corona lighting with corona scatter. Now you can render and make post-production in Photoshop.
