What new features landed in Corona 12?

  • Export of the Corona to Vantage scene. Use Chaos Vantage to import your Corona scenes and render test shots quickly. Use Vantage to create animations and take advantage of the blazingly quick GPU real-time rendering. 
  • Decals with a curve. Bend labels around curved bottles and spherical objects with ease and without distortion.
  • VFB 2, or the New Virtual Frame Buffer. Make use of the new VFB capabilities, including as deferred bloom and glare calculations, numerous LightMix settings within a single render, and enhanced A/B image comparison.
  • Enhancements to Corona Pattern. Use Corona Pattern to create new, astonishingly realistic materials. Now that the crop box's shape can be defined by geometric objects, designers can use techniques like snapping and more to create the ideal pattern.
  • For 3ds Max, use the Corona Scatter Instance Brush. Using a brush tool to enhance procedural instances, you can have complete creative control over the scattering process.
  • Corona Sky upgrades. Increase the realism of day-to-night transitions by utilizing even lower sun angles.
  • New Corona Sky Density parameter. Just click to customize your cloud density.
  • The availability of the Corona Material Library on Chaos Cosmos will help you save time while transferring across asset libraries.
  • Experience a more efficient workflow with the latest version of Cryptomatte by material.
