How many particles Unity can handle?

Brackeys is pushing Unity particle system to the limits.

Unity Game Engine currently has two particle system - one is Shuriken (CPU-based system) and the other is new VFX Graph (GPU based). They both have their advantages and uses, but in this video it is not about real-case scenarios, it's all about performance. How many particles you can emit on a decent PC system until it starts lagging seriously? Brackeys wanted to find out and here is a video:

His system specs are:

AMD Ryzek 7 2700x, 32 GB of RAM and Nvidia Gefore GTX 1080.
