Using Corona or V-Ray renderers.

In this video Arch Viz Champ shows how to Create wet road material using 3ds max and corona or Vray render. This is great to add a special vibe to your image and make it pop from the rest.

Video Breakdown:

  • start with reference - wet road close up
  • create a base layer of total wetness - darker road, more reflective overall
  • top layer - puddles, darker spots, reflective, scattered with a mask, blurry edges
  • In 3ds max start with a simple dry road
  • make diffuse map darker, reduce reflection maps control
  • add the second layer for puddles, copy material, make defuse darker, remove reflection maps, reduce gloss, add a small noise bump. add a layer mask to create puddles and add blur.
