In this video, we’ll take a closer look at the image sampling in V-Ray.

Sampling  is the process of how the color of each individual pixel of the image is determined as well as how we can control the image sampling process.

In this video you will learn what is the difference between primary and secondary rays, using noise threshold and subdivision sliders. The narrator discusses differences between progressive and bucket sampling.

The first gives us faster feedback but the latter has better CPU utilization. also distributed rendering (using many computers) is more efficient in bucket mode. Computer uses less RAM during bucket rendering and some features like deep rendering or cryptomatte support only this mode.
