    GTX 960M 4GB - (non OC) drivers ver. 354.35
    NO SSD Drive

    3dsmax 2012 64 bit
    Win 10 64bit

render "as is" - mental ray
    1st try - 4:46
    2nd try - 4:42

    render mental ray with settings:
    bucket width - 128
    bucket order - Hilbert (best)
frame buffer type - Floating 32 bit per channel
    Scanline - off
    Raytracing - on
    Raytrace acceleration mode - BSP2
    Enabled reflections refractions
    Max trace depth: 7
    Max reflections: 6
    Max refractions: 6

    shadows on; mode- segments
Shadow maps enabled; motion blur enabled; Rebuild enabled
    Displacement(global settings)
    -view enabled; smoothing enabled
    -edge lenght 0,05 pixels
    -max displace 100,0
    -max subdiv. 1K

    1st try - 5:16

    And for my PC:

    Time: 0:12:50

    3dsmax version: 2016 sp3

    processor: Celeron G1840
    CPU speed: 2,80 GHz
    FSB: 104 MHz
    size of memory: 2 x 4 GB DDR3 + 1 x 8 GB (Corsair & Kingston)
    memory speed: 2 x 693 (1.39 GHz) (is actually 1,6 when it's running tasks)
    ram timings: 9-9-9-27 6-36-12-8 2T

    Motherboard: Asus Z97-AR
    Disk 1: 128 GB Kongston V300 SSD, disk 2: ST1000DM003 (Seagate as I recall)
GPU: Asus GTX 750 with 2 GB DDR5

Not surprising my Celeron is faster than the I5 M as it also renders faster. It's actually a very decent CPU, concidering the ~40$ price. Well, it was a "I need something cheap right now"-buy and will soon be replaced with an I5 or I7.

    And some bucket render results:

Asus Z97-AR with Celeron G1840 as primary, Asus K73SV with Core I5-2430M as bucket render:

    Time: 0:07:42

A pretty decent improvement from my previous 0:16:03 & 0:12:50 times!
    Bucket rendering rocks ^_^
