Create a Subway Corridor in Blender in 20 minutes

Blender Guru 2018-01-22 09:09 tutorial  > Blender  > modeling

This is a short video but packed with useful tips: create a subway scene animation in Blender.

First, we match reference photo with camera settings in Blender using free BLAM add-on. Then we extrude one stair step and make the rest with array modifier.
Railings are made from cylinder shape, curved parts are made with spin modifier. Of course, during testing lighting, you should use Filmic color space, to get the best possible natural lighting, without overblowing contrast.

After that we create materials. Tiles material is a just simple Substance Designer custom tiles. Andrew also adds imperfections textures. Flickering light is created with animating emission value with Noise and Limit modifier. At the end we color grade the image with Color Balance node in "Offset / Power / Slope" mode.

Hint for speeeding up rendering: in Scene panel, change AO Bounces to 2. It can cut your render time 3 times.
