Finnish Vacation House

Last month we've been working on some really cool project. It's a single family residence for local artist in Finland, designed by talented Edward Becker. House is separated in zones so that from a ground floor it seems like house want to escape in the surrounding nature. Connection with that peaceful environment is achieved through the large glass planes that are positioned on almost every part of the house. So literally we can say that house is completely turned in the direction of nature inside out. We started with clay renders, just to find the right camera angles. As you can see, house is located on a coast, surrounded by pine and spruce forest typical for Finland. So even early in this stage we roughly positioned some trees behind the house and rocks along the shore just to bring closer potential look of environment. Later on, we continued with two cameras, one from water and one from the other side, positioned on the ground. Client was very helpful in terms of finding the right atmosphere, references and the mood that he's after. We also found some other similiar references based on his descriptions and all those together really helped us out. With all those references we were poisined to make one with the mist although we wasn't quiet sure that client is after that. So in the end we made two variatons of the same view. Here is one with the mist that was rejected in the end. In the end it made sense to go with clearer approach around the house. As always, comments or suggestions are more than welcome :) http://www.kaiserbold.com/ https://www.behance.net/kaiserbold
