Hello everyone, As this challenge approaches the end, I would like to say I really enjoyed the entire experience. The first thing that comes into my mind when thinking about lofts is the greatness of the space. So I wanted to create something big, two-three levels within the same apartment. Another very important aspect was light - I imagined it as a big open space with a flood of natural light, hence the huge window surfaces. That may reside in my experience of confined apartments I used to live in, with small windows and small heights. Thus for me the idea of a loft is like an escape from the ordinary. Regarding the choice of space, my inspiration is rooted from studying the industrial age (especially train stations). As far as the mood goes, I got inspired by a few photographs from Paulina Arcklin. So this is what I was aiming to achieve - light, white interior with the rough touch of wood, metal and just a bit of color. The idea of a painter’s studio was somehow implicit to me. I guess I have always wanted to be a painter… I ended up a simple CG artist instead. However, that seemed to be a perfect match with the “birth” of lofts themselves, so it seemed natural to design a loft for an artist. I really hope you enjoy the final result. 155327 Here are a few other images: 155332 155334 155336 155341 155342 155343 Software: max 2015, v-ray 3.2, floor generator, multi texture map, xray unwrap, berconmaps, bitmap2material, photoshop CC, arionfx; Models: Andrei Mikhalenko, a few archmodels, designconnected, 3ddd.ru; Images: Andre Kohn (paintings).
