Suspended Reality

How has the pandemic affected society? How does it make me feel? The year 2020 was a historic period of transition and upheaval. It will be remembered as a time of upheaval, fear and uncertainty world-wide. Each person has been affected differently and we all had to cope and adapt to the new normal. The hope is things will go back to the way they used to be, but nobody knows. During this time, it forced me to take time and provided space from others, which allowed me to reflect and re-evaluate my priorities. I felt as if everything was flipped upside-down and untethered from what I knew. My uncertainty made me feel weightless and ungrounded. As time went on, it forced me to accept the new reality and figure out how to thrive in this altered state. By accepting this new perspective, it allowed me to appreciate the simple things and re-align my priorities. Awakened with a fresh perspective, I approached our suspended reality as an opportunity, not a problem.
