Evermotion 2026-01-12 15:01 article  > All

The finalists of Evermotion Challenge 2025 revealed!

We are happy to announce the results of Evermotion Challenge 2025! BIG THANK YOU for all participants, our sponsors and jury and HUGE CONGRATULATIONS for winners!

1st Place: Saltwind Horizon by Lumirac

Saltwind_Horizon_Lmrc

Artur Tamiola: This one feels like the clear winner to me - you can see a ton of heart in the 3D work, plus a really smart use of upscaling. It’s exaggerated in the best way: super dynamic, and the colours and overall idea just click. The changing weather makes it feel properly unpredictable.

Hrvoje Cop: One of the rare images in the challenge that showed dynamics in both scene composition and camera framing. Nice attention to detal, interesting atmosphere, and a plausible story. The image is coherent and well thought out with good attention to detail throughout.

Evermotion: This is a strong, cinematic scene with an excellent sense of scale and storytelling. The dense foreground, dramatic lighting, and atmospheric sky create a powerful mood.Materials and surface details are convincing and well executed. Overall, this is a polished, professional piece with strong visual impact. Congratulations, well done!

2nd Place: Burning Coast by Mateusz Janczak

EVERMOTION_CHALLENGE_2025_FINAL_IMAGE_small

Alina Godunova: Great idea. The mood and the idea - is a feeling of some disaster movie which is always very risky , because hard to keep the attention on one thing. But artist did a great job. Technically - great work with fire, water. Somewhere maybe a little bit overstaged, but overall composition handled good. Great cinamatic render with a brave idea.

Bartosz Domiczek: I like this believable story of wildfires engulfing a tropical resort and how the Evermotion 3d assets fit seamlessly in the scene without interrupting the narrative itself. Firefighters are undoubtedly heroes of this scenario, but I think there are a bit too many little stories happening within the foreground and the image could have benefited from focusing on one or two of them (maybe also by showing civilians trapped between the flames and water?).

Hrvoje Cop: This image has a disaster-movie vibe to it and it's executed well. The firefighters are believable, the environment is carefully architected and serves the story well. Nice work on the fire and smoke effects, they look believable and not over done. My only gripe is that the image feels very static, and firefighters in motion could benefit from some motion blur. This along with perhaps a bit more dynamic camera angle could emphasize the action and panic.

Evermotion: Lighting, smoke, and fire effects are convincing and add dramatic tension and we love it! This image is strong and has a cinematic vibe. Detailed and readable, though slightly busy in places. Overall, it’s a powerful, well-executed piece. Congtarulations!

3rd Place: The Unexpected Wave by Niccolò Brovelli

EVERMOTION_2_small

Alina Godunova: Great choice to go with BW mood. Nothing distracts you - just pure emotions and movements, which artist showed very strong from the technical perspective. Also good choice with the low angle and reflections which pulled you right into the scene and you feel like you standing inside this story.

Artur Tamiola: I really feel the mood here - it has its own atmosphere and character straight away. The black-and-white look comes across as deliberate, and the whole thing has this nostalgic, carefree vibe.

Bartosz Domiczek: Going black and white might often be an easy way to escape difficulties of color handling but it works really well in this image, placing its aesthetics somewhere between a joyful Pixar scene and serious journalism. The composition and depth of the scene are really pleasant and help the story play out properly.

Hrvoje Cop: Good choice using black and white for this shot. It sits somewhere between nostalgia and documentary in a good way. Interesting subject with a different approach than most entries. Good use of plans and DOF. The only concerns are that the birds in the sky look a bit too static, and perhaps the image could benefit from less characters and birds. Less could be more here.

Evermotion: The black-and-white palette gives this image a documentary, almost photojournalistic quality. I really like the framing and composition—the way the scene is organized within the frame works beautifully. The subject matter itself is compelling: the contrast between poverty and trash alongside fancy buildings is striking and effective. A strong piece and a solid contender in this competition. Congratulations!

Honorable mentions:

Stuck in Ice by SeniorMathias

Stuck_in_Ice_1207_FINAL_sm

Alina Godunova: Really love this image. Firstly, the angle - the vertical split between the frozen watet and the land immediately catch the eye and bring attention from top to bottom of the image. The image not overhelmed with too many details, also good accent with red color, not too intense and do not take too much attention. Also I like the idea with the mood, It does nott feel happy, it feels intentional. You pause, because your brain needs a second to reconcile what you are actualy seeing. Like palms with a snow which you will never see in your life =)

Artur Tamiola: This kind of image that makes you pause and actually study it. I love the contrast between the two “worlds” it’s putting together, and it almost reads like a poster or a film invitation. The palette is really pleasing, and the asset use is clear without being too obvious.

Bartosz Domiczek: Aerial top-down images are really difficult to execute - suddenly our CG illusion of the world starts to break and we can start to spot artificial patterns and simplifications everywhere. This image excels in this context because not only does it present a believable world with all the tricky details (sea ice, snow cover, streets), but is also able to suggest a story based on this unusual perspective.

Hrvoje Cop: Rare to find a pure top-down angle in images like these. It has a movie-poster vibe and I could totally see it with a movie title and cast plastered over it. Interesting details all around and it invites you to have a more detailed look. Very nice technical work on the snow cover and shoreline details.

Evermotion: The strongest aspects of this work are the composition and subject matter. It's not often you see frozen palm trees ;) I think this is a strong entry in this competition. Bravo!

Arkhan by Alessandro Colace

Alessandro_Colace_Evermotion_Challenge_Arkhan_sm

Alina Godunova: Solid realism - materials done well, scale is proper, quality work with greenery, mood is soft and calm but still gives a touch of drama. Good angle for such architectural forms. I would say, it is avery elegant and refined architectural render - no much suprises, but a very confident work.

Artur Tamiola: It’s such a simple image but it works perfectly. It has a really high-concept idea behind it, classic Alessandro stuff! The muddy, dirty water paired with that minimalism just works. There's something truly majestic about it.

Bartosz Domiczek: This image is a very elegant, subdued and calm piece of arch-viz - which is always a difficult position to contend in competitions against all flashy works with intense stories. However, I love the creative use of Evermotion assets and how they were transformed into something totally unique and new that also drives the story of the space.

Catch the Silver Lining by Datankunreal

EVERMOTION_WEATHER_CONTEST_FINAL_2_sm

Hrvoje Cop: This image reminds me of a comic book style shot with its composition. I like the colors and the atmosphere. It's dynamic and tells a story without over emphasizing it cheaply. It shows clear separation of foreground and background plans, and the colors, composition and camera angle all work well together.
