The main principle behind Tyskie commercial was the best possible outcome. Working closely with OTOFILM production, Konqubinat Directors and Bardzo Agency, ORKA postproduction delivered previz, animatics (Actiomatics rather) and was further an assistance during shooting.
In order to achieve the quality the postproduction team build-on Directors ideas, in contrast to be restricting on -set; i.e. camera movement or such. The production design departament did a fantastic work and ORKA was more than happy to take it to the next level.
The scope of postproduction work was quite usual for such a project:
While grading on Resolve, ORKA began work with heavy rotoscpoping and tracking using Mocha and PFtrack. Matte-paintings were done in Photoshop, simple 3D scene modeling and set reconstruction in 3ds Max. The scenes were transferred to compositing stage via alembic / fbx, allowing greater flexibility. The projections were done inside comp apps (Fusion and Nuke) and the details were worked-on simultaneously. Secondary dust / haze/ smoke simulations were done inside compositing, while for fluid simulation ORKA used Thinking Particles inside 3ds Max. Using the production-proven workflow ORKA finishing stage involved the hot-chair and the Autodesk Smoke, allowing for fast interactivity and Client reviews / revisions /turnarounds.
