A Day in the City

Hello everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. I wish you all the best for 2019! I am really excited about this new challenge. However, I was so busy with work that I did not have much time to spend on this project. Then my parents and siblings came to visit for two weeks of vacation. I finally have a bit of free time to get back to the Evermotion challenge. I am a conceptual artist and not a 3d modeler, so what I usually do is using premade models. I have many 3d models from Evermotion (e.g. Archmodels City Buildings and Post Apocalyptic Objects), Daz Stomason (e.g. Urban bundle and Urban Sprawl), and Kitbash3d. My main 3d program is Lumion where I import the buildings and place them around to create interesting layouts. Here are some WIP images that I started last month. I like to create greyscale images so that I can mainly focus on the composition before worrying about the textures and materials. I will add people and cars next time. Good luck to everyone and have a wonderful week! _Ken >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hello there, Here are the views that I posted before but with people and cars. The city comes to life. I like where things are going, but I wanted to tell a story, not just showing people living in a city. From the beginning I had the idea of doing something about the past, present and future. Depending on how much time I have, I wanted to do a concept with some ruined buildings from Archmodels vol. 165 (past), city buildings/Archmodels vol. 203 (present) and some sci-fi buildings in the background (future). I am so busy with work that I am afraid I might not be able to do it. Will see how things go. Have a terrific weekend! _Ken >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hello again, I did not have time to do what I wanted with the past, present and future idea. So here is my final image rendered in Lumion with postwork in Photoshop. An evening in A Day in the City where people are going home after a long day at work, or maybe some are starting their evening shift. Thank you for viewing and best of luck to all. Cheers! _Ken
