Nvidia expands Omniverse and makes it even more powerful tool for collaboration in arch-viz industry.

NVIDIA Omniverse is a virtual platform built for collaboration and real-time photorealistic simulation. Project teams can now maximize productivity, enhance communication while collaborating on the same 3D model.

For teams designing buildings, there is a growing demand for efficient collaboration during design, faster iteration on renders, and the expectation of accurate simulation and photorealism. These demands can become even more difficult when teams are geographically dispersed. NVIDIA Omniverse helps architecture, engineering, construction, and operations (AECO) professionals tackle building design projects from any location.

During Nvidia GTC conference, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang develops a vision of the future of computation, AI systems and Omniverse.

 

Workflow

NVIDIA Omniverse helps to iterate on Initial Building Ideas, Architects and designers can create and quickly iterate on initial ideas for building designs. Teams can iterate on ideas swiftly to drive innovation, with the ability to create compelling photorealistic renders faster, in order to meet deadlines and win new projects. Globally dispersed project teams with a broad range of disciplines can now collaborate and communicate easily, reducing the likelihood of design flaws and delays to agreeing on design decisions.

Simple presentation of accurate visualizations and enhanced team collaboration reduce the number of review cycles, keeping projects on track and accelerating the path to design approvals.

Nvidia Omniverse Create

Omniverse Create is an application that accelerates advanced scene composition and allows users to interactively assemble, light, simulate, and render scenes in Pixar USD in real-time. Create unifies the architectural design pipeline and provides ease of iteration with live synchronization between different software applications being used simultaneously.

Omniverse Create lets you say goodbye to linear workflows and pipeline bottlenecks with just a simple app connection—all thanks to Pixar’s powerful Universal Scene Description (USD) framework. Technical artists, designers, and engineers can now quickly assemble complex and physically accurate simulations and 3D scenes in real-time and collaboratively with other team members with ease.

 

 

Create lets you easily navigate, modify, and render Pixar USD content using Omniverse Connectors to live-sync to many top industry applications, including Autodesk Revit, Trimble SketchUp, Autodesk Maya, SideFX Houdini, and more.

Features

  • Export photoreal renderings as high-fidelity images and 360-degree panoramas or high-quality captures with a movie tool.
  • Bring in your own assets or fill in from Create’s libraries, including trees, furniture, roads, and more. Then move and compose your scene. Omniverse Connectors also let you import landscapes from Unreal Engine or SideFX Houdini.
  • Omniverse Create includes RTX Renderer, path-traced renderer that lets you render billions of polygons with global illumination, reflections, and refractions. With support for multiple GPUs, even the Path Tracer can hit real-time rates coupled with NVIDIA vMaterials for realistic scenes and true-to-reality visualizations. Plus, USD collections and light linking enable lighting artists to control object lighting and shadow properties easily.
  • Create supports animation from tools like Autodesk Maya, Epic Games’ Unreal Engine, and Autodesk 3ds Max and supports features like animation clips, skeletal animation, animation caches, and blend shapes. 
  • Create includes advanced simulation capabilities, including direct integration of NVIDIA PhysX 5, Blast, and Flow for true-to-reality rigid and deformable body physics, destruction, fire, and smoke simulation. You can also use tools like SideFX Houdini to export USD animations and effects that can be brought in and rendered in Create.
  • Export your simulation as an MP4, sequential images, or an interactive standalone playback with the Create’s Movie Maker tool. Sharing high-fidelity augmented reality to both Android and iOS devices is also easy with  NVIDIA Omniverse™ XR Remote and NVIDIA CloudXR. Plus, Omniverse VR is the first full-frame real-time ray-traced VR experience—in beta with the new Omniverse XR app.
