Autodesk 3ds Max - new splines in action

Autodesk 2017-09-01 10:52 article  > All

Autodesk released new video showing the latest spline tools in action.

Autodesk added a few new spline tools that can be used to create and animate geometry in several ways.

Earlier this year we witnessed that SplineTools plugin for 3ds Max made by Boomer Labs dissapeared. Now it shows that plugin developer cooperated with Autodesk to bring native support of plugin funtionality into 3ds Max. All tools from the plugin has been rewriten from scratch, and improved on many levels. There are improvements on pathdeform. Optimizing of splines reduces huge number of points on paths recreating the only needed bezier curves.

New Autodesk 3ds Max 2018.2 update lets you draw splines freehand directly in the viewport, use a spline as a morpher on existing spline objects, or use the new spline tools to animate objects. New spline tools include: Freehand, Spline Morph, Spline Overlap, Spline Mirror, Spline Relax, and Optimize Spline. Get the full scoop: http://autode.sk/2wi7S7f
