PROJECT NEXUS - DAY 3

In 2034, high-resolution subsurface radar scans from the Mars Explorer 3 orbiter revealed a massive geological anomaly deep beneath the Elysium Planitia region. Buried under hundreds of meters of basaltic dust lay a subterranean hall of impossible proportions, supported by a dense matrix of over a thousand towering, organic-like pillars. International space agencies immediately launched Project Nexus—a covert, high-priority mission to deploy autonomous reconnaissance hardware into the structure. The Hexamone drone was sent ahead to map the labyrinthine interior, analyze structural compositions, and scan for biosignatures. For two days, telemetry returned only routine data: silent corridors, ancient mineral accretions, and absolute void. On the third day, at 04:12 UTC, Hexamone entered the central nave. Internal sensors registered a sudden, localized atmospheric shift—and its optical sensors locked onto an active anomaly…
