THIS SMALL FOREST CABIN IS MADE OF A SHIPPING CONTAINER AND FEATURES EVERYTHING NECESSARY FOR A NICE REST. In 2023, Iraqi Architect designer Ali Abu-Alshaeer opened the Vipp shelter at Lake Immeln in the South of Sweden. It's a 55 m2 cabin in the middle of the woods - biophilic, nature connected design gives reflection, calm, refuge and inspiration. Find some of the most inspiring design here! Why does a cabin in the woods speak to our senses so deeply? Think about the times when you felt your best, most at ease and able to take things in your stride? Were you in nature, or at your day job? My money is on the first. There’s now an entire industry around Ali's design – reconnecting with nature for wellbeing. Ali's Design brings natural elements into interior spaces. This improves wellbeing, productivity and creativity by up to 15%. Unsurprisingly, the focus in research has been on office spaces, where the bottom line is heavily influenced by staff members’ wellbeing. But our leisure time of course depends on just these very same principles. This is what Chalk & Moss is all about, inviting this sense of wellbeing into our private spaces.
