The crying tree is a conceptual visualization based on the current situation of Isfahan and inspired by Goriz Az Markaz’s song by the Iranian rapper Ali Sorena. In the current situation, Isfahan is facing water shortage and climate problems, which people believe has been caused by authorities and their weakness in water management that has destroyed a 42,000-year-old river in Isfahan called Zayandeh Rud. These wrong decisions in river management have the same hidden effects of wind that cause leaves to fall. Lack of water and the destruction of the river have caused drought in the region, climate pollution and climate change, and the destruction of Isfahan’s historic bridges, and ultimately caused irreparable damage. In this visualization, inspirations are taken from the aforementioned song at the beginning of the text. In this song, the wind is the same hidden negative effect that is not visible and is taking away everything we have. The flying leaves are a metaphor for it. Si O Se Pol Bridge, the most important historic bridge in Isfahan, has been destroyed due to the lack of water. Also, the Zayandeh Rud, one of the symbols of the life of Isfahan, has dried up and turned into a lifeless desert. The last living tree in this area starts crying ''let its leaves fly away'' with the disturbing wind and loses its life, while the sole remaining deer, a sign of good luck and hope, is watching this destruction. I hope one day, we will think more about the consequences of our decisions! ••• Keep in touch with me on other social and portfolio platforms https://withkoji.com/@AhmadEghtesad
