Sphere in material editor appears black

Hi All, I am using 3dsMax 2018 and vRay 2018. I am facing issue with the material editor: the image i mapped under diffuse tab was not reflected on the sphere. The sphere appears black. However, when I issue the material to the model and render, the material is shown. Can anyone please advise what is the issue? > Not being able to see the material on the sphere is very troublesome as the adjustments cannot be seen. < Thank you. 200116
