My telescope

Hi, guys. This is my telescope, or should I say my Astronomy club's telescope. It is a Meade LXD75 Schmidt Newtonian 10" telescope (you can look for it on Internet) with over 6 years of use and a bunch of good memories of observing nights. I modeled it because there are very few telescopes in forums and 3D model online stores, and most of all because I had it just right by me, so I could measure every piece and notice every subtle texture detail. I modeled it using 3ds Max and rendered it using V-Ray. Model is all polys using NURMS subdivision + smoothing groups (instead of turbosmooth) to keep it lowpoly. Stickers, logos, setting circles and other specific maps were vector drawn using Corel Draw and exported as bitmaps. Eyepiece rubber grip texture is a displacement map. I positioned it in a fashionable way and made several takes, including a huge 10k x 10k one. I also made a 50 sec animation. Here's the lowres image and some cropped squares from the large one. 123354 123355123356123357123358123359123360123361123362123363123364123365123366123367123368123369 You can find the hires image here and the animation here I hope you like it.
