Siemens extractors

This is part of a project showcasing a customer product in situ. The vapour was created using video footage mapped to particles so it could be controlled easily. This shot is part of a larger project containing products that work in different ways. Creating the CGI vapour using particles in 3ds Max allowed us to change its behaviour and appearance quickly. This was great for the development process and also for adapting the vapour for different products. We used lots of photographic and video references to make sure the motion and feel looked right. We had recently upgraded to V-Ray 3.6 which certainly helped get these images rendered in time.

Software: 3ds max 2018, Vray 3.6, Particle Flow, Photoshop CC. We created the steam using particle flow for this project because we needed to show it in multiple shots working with different client products. 3ds max PF flow allowed us to edit and manipulate the ste
