SketchUp's Real-Time Rendering Moment: Lumion View, AI Render, and the End of the Export Workflow

SketchUp 2025–2026 has added native PBR materials, AI image generation, and real-time rendering plugins like Lumion View, letting archviz artists produce photorealistic images without leaving the viewport. This collapses the traditional design-to-render pipeline.

THE BRAIN

This work pays tribute to a very charming building designed as a laboratory for a filmmaker that saw published several years ago on a trade magazine and I immediately fell in love. The project is called The Brain and the author of this jewel is the study Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen Architects. I recovered the reference drawings and I modeled everything except grass, plants, piano, chairs, table and the objects on the table on the mezzanine and on the window overlooking the inlet. Starting from some photographs, taken from the study site too, I decided to re-create the same shots by changing the atmosphere. More images on www.flickr.com/photos/lorenzodallabenetta
