Retopo of cinematic character question #1

Hello there ! It was VERY long time since was here last time :) Have a question about retopo topology of character for cinematic shots. Is it necessary to build retopo along all of the muscles to achieve good reasult (pic 1) or I can spread vertices along model like a mad man (pic 2)?
