'About To Crash' - Matt McDowell - Evermotion Challenge 2016

Hi all, Here is my final entry, thanks Evermotion for hosting this challenge! 177062 Software: 3Ds Max 2016, V-Ray 3.4, Agisoft Photoscan, Megascans Studio, Mudbox 2016, ZBrush 4R7, Adobe Photoshop CC & After Effects CC Plugins: Forest Pack, Grow FX, Multi Texture, Nik Collection Additional Models: Evermotion, Megascans, 3DSky Additional Textures & Materials: Megascans, Poliigon, PG Skies, Lens Distortions _______________________________________________________ Brief: 'The ruin stood proud and majestic in what was once the garden, now only serving as a reminder of times gone by. Nobody was aware of the secret power it held, until she arrived. The connection between Her and this ancient place would soon become clear.' The title of this piece is inspired by a song of the same name, which tells the story of a young woman who suffers from extreme stress, and gradually transitions from one existence to another. Being from Ireland I wanted my scene to reflect the type of plant life and historical architecture that can be found across the country. I also have a soft spot for surreal or sci-fi elements in storytelling, so my concept is a merging of the natural and supernatural. Preliminary sketch of my concept: 177063 I've been working on this for a few days already, and I have some of the modelling already completed, so I'll post some WIPs very soon. Good luck everyone! Matt
