Whola Lotta Loft! - Challenge 2015: Converted Garage Loft

Hello my name is Dorothy and I am a self taught 3d artist, this is my very first submission to a contest! I started this project back in August 2015 and recently came across the Evermotion Loft Challenge so I decided to submit what I have so far. When I began this project, I wanted to create a space that's inspired by a Japanese artist, Yacchan Clip, in the game Second Life. The goal was to create a simple model and really focus on texturing and lighting as well as furniture which are all new to me as an artist. I wanted to create a converted garage loft with lots of grungy, industrial elements such as worn brick, rusted metal, and dirty glass, as well as warm touches of wood, sunlight and nature. Here are a few of my reference photos. I will be having to go back to document the modeling process of the loft. Those WIP photos will be coming next!
