Whola Lotta Loft! - Challenge 2015 // Christian Da Silva

Hi everyone, my name is Christian Da Silva and I'm interested in participate. As an architect, I have a big interest in loft spaces, particularly in the concept of open spaces that you can redecorate as many time as you want. I'll be posting the work that I've already made, hope you all like it! Here are some references I took into consideration for my own work: 150440 I like the whiteness of these spaces in contrast with an element made in wood. First of, I used 3dsMax software for modeling the scene, along with some ready-made 3d models from Evermotion such as some furniture to help me out. Here are some images from the modeling process: 150410 150411 150412 150413 150414 150415 150416 After I finished modeling the concept, next thing was to put on a single grey material and start adding some vray lights. I used vray plane lights in the windows, free lights inside the space in every spot I've got to make it very realistic, and for the sun I used a standard target direct light, as you can see below: 150417 150418 150419 I used standard materials for those objects with no reflection, such as the white brick walls, in which case it's made from a brick texture I found on the internet and attached it as a bitmap with 20% in the diffuse color slot, a 245 white color in the diffuse slot, and I copied it as an instance into the 50% bump slot. Specular level: 60, Glossiness: 30 150431 For those materials with reflection and/or refraction was used a vray material, for example the glass in the windows, the black panels that cover the bedrooms walls, and the wood box to make it look polished and brand new 150432 150433 Before I got the final image, some test renderings took place in order to watch texture, illumination and modeling quality. 150434 150435 150436 150437 Then I decided to change the rectangular spots in the wood box for circular ones, and some postproduction took place in photoshop, mostly to add the background, some people and color, brightness/contrast/saturation correction: 150438 And... Here's the final image!! 150439 Hope you all like it. if you wish you can leave comments. Christian
