Hey guys! I want to show you my entry for Car Render Challenge 2015. I used 3ds max for modeling and V-ray for final rendering (single HDR dome + few Vray sphere lights). Postproduction was done in Photoshop. http://www.galvis85.ayz.pl/MERCEDES_AMG_GT/Mercedes_AMG_GT_shot1.jpg clay&wireframe: http://www.galvis85.ayz.pl/MERCEDES_AMG_GT/Mercedes_AMG_GT_shot_clay1.jpg http://www.galvis85.ayz.pl/MERCEDES_AMG_GT/Mercedes_AMG_GT_shot_clay2.jpg Below few screens showing whole process. I decided to make that beauty as accurate as I could. I went to a nearest Mercedes dealer where this car was exposed. After a quick intruduction and explanation that I did not came to buy this car ( Sad ) I was able to spent over 2h 1 on 1 with the AMG moster. I shot a lot of reference photos and get the dimensions of almost every external part of the car: http://www.galvis85.ayz.pl/MERCEDES_AMG_GT/Mercedes_AMG_GT_references1.jpg http://www.galvis85.ayz.pl/MERCEDES_AMG_GT/Mercedes_AMG_GT_dimensions1.jpg so after that stage I had over 200 photos + references that I found over the web, pretty much to get the party started! Wink Combined with official blueprints and my own measurements I did a 3d spline model which was adjusted just a little bit to match the car shapes (using camera match). http://www.galvis85.ayz.pl/MERCEDES_AMG_GT/Mercedes_AMG_GT_cameramatch1.jpg Modeling with those 3d splines (which can be called 3d blueprints) goes much more smoother as you dont have to bother if you're going out of proportions (you already got them from previous stage! Wink ) http://www.galvis85.ayz.pl/MERCEDES_AMG_GT/Mercedes_AMG_GT_modeling1.jpg http://www.galvis85.ayz.pl/MERCEDES_AMG_GT/Mercedes_AMG_GT_modeling2.jpg I'm not done yet! I'm planning to do few more shots! ;) Enjoy
