140705 WORKFLOW: 3DS MAX + VRAY + MD - PS Hey, was geht ab? Hello girls and guys. I came here to introduce you one of my latest projects: 'Contemporary Walk-In-Closet' This is my first time posting in here and I want to say that I feel the importance to help, adivice and inspire all of you as I intend to do in others forums. I have a extensive knowledge about the highests furniture companies of europe, and probably the world. So I'm really excited to give a lot of value to you! :D So as this forum doesn't have a presentation part, I will briefly introduce my self. My name is Lucas, I'm 21 years old and since 17 I work with architecture. My passion for photography was what lead me to this Photovisualization world, and I cannot express how much I love all of this. How the colors interact with each other and how the light can change a form is just beautiful. About the project: This is an 'one single shot' project of a Walk-in-Closet with a wide window at left, a W.i.C. in front, and two wardrobes one behind the camera and the other at the far right that can't being seen, but come, we have enough imagination! Neutral and dark tones contrast with the white fabrics and the live comes with the usage of orange and red colors and dark and light blue. The main idea was to make a 'Winter Walk in closet', where you can feel through the photovisualization that no matter how cold the outside is you will feel warm and comfortable in this room any way. -------------------------------------- TIP So as I said I want to give as much value as possible to the CGcommunity. In every post of some project that I did I will use something on the project and transform in some tip. Today I the tip is about 'Glass' This is something very simple but I assure it will bring more realism to your images. As you all know the 'perfection' does not exist. Assuming this premise we can increase the realism of our projects doing something very simple: Creating ripples. The simplest way to do, and I recommend only to do on objects that are more far away from the camera or those that are suffering a big DOF effect and therefore will not realize such ripple, is using a simple NOISE MAP: change the size to something small, use fractal , then approach the values of the high and low to get closer to 0.5 (eg high 0.6 - low 0.4). and use shades with close color channels (eg 10-30). 140706 For very light-reflecting material or those objects that are very close, always choose the method that I did the glass in WiC. Subdivide the object into several pieces, till become ashape with various mini squares. Then apply a little noise with a low size (5-15), and increase the values of the noise. Simple like that and you will have a more realistic glass.
