The Sentinel

The Sentinels. The scene was inspired by different images of Gion in old Japan. Rendered in different time settings, to suggest the cool feeling of early morning. Sentinel refers to the Pagodas because of their large scale and for being one of the oldest structures. This gives the impression that they watch over the whole village and gives a feeling of security. Done in 3ds Max, rendered in mental ray and post processed in Photoshop.
