grab google earth city

is there any way for grab 3d model of buildings from google earth. there is almost whole city on google earth in 3d but only few iconic buildings can be downloaded. I know it can be downloaded with sketchup very easy but is there a way for download part of the city which I need...i can't see any any way... help please
