Louvre animation modelling & texturing WIP

Still image from my current animation project at its current state during the early stages of modelling and texturing. Modelled from maps & photographs, many things left to model before I start tweaking to make it better, mainly the internal frame of the pyramids, the water fountain needs granite borders, ornate detailing, the larger windows and sculptures on the surrounding context – the list is endless! It gets across the kind of vibe I’m going for in the animation anyway, want to be quite subtle with the use of colour and texture and just try and get it as photorealistic as possible! All in all though really happy with how this is turning out with it being so early in production and when it comes to my own work I’m really hard to please! You can find the viewport preview of the animation here (http://ryangroves3d.com/2014/01/16/the-louvre-paris-animation-screen-preview-wip/) so you can hopefully visualize a little bit better what’s going on in my head with all this. As I put more detail into the model I’m finding more and more close up/vignette type shots so by the next cut of the film I imagine it will look a bit different, more intimate, refined and hopefully much improved. At the moment I’d say there needs to be more variation between ‘epic’ pans and close up vignettes of the nice details. Anyway, I digress, here’s how its going, hope you like!
