Can I update Garmin GPS? Help me!

I have a Garmin GPS device and using this device for driving the car safely on the unknown routes. I know very well that Garmin GPS device shows the right location with the latest updates, maps, and softwares. But from a few days, my Garmin GPS device is not working properly. I have tried my skills for sorting out this problem, but I don’t get the success in resolving this issue. I don’t have full knowledge for Garmin GPS not working issue or update Garmin GPS, so I look for someone’s help for resolving this issue. Can anyone have ideas for this concern?
