David Connolly is an architectural Illustrator with over 8 years experience in Architectural Illustration. He trained originally as an Architectural Technologist at the Dublin Institute of Technology where he graduated in 1999 with a distinction. Quickly realising his passion for a more visually orientated career he worked in-house at two of Irelands top Architectural firms, BKD & HJL as chief CGI Visualiser before going freelance in 2001. In 2006 he moved to London and soon after joined the world renowned Architectural Illustration Studio Hayes Davidson where he was lead project artist for over two years consistently creating atmospheric, exciting & emotive illustrations for the designs of many of the world's top architects including Zaha Hadid, Herzog & de Meuron, RSHp, Foster + Partners, Renzio Piano, John Pawson, Daniel Liebskind, SOM & KPF. Early in 2009 David left Hayes Davidson to form his own studio, Insightful Light. Based in London he now concentrates on Architectural Illustration, Photography & Retouching and has freelanced for some of the UK's leading Illustration studios including Squint Opera, Glass Canvas, Neoscape, RockHunter & Design Hive Media.
