Hey Everybody,
here is my first WIP Image. Its very simple. Experimenting, a little box modeling. More about my idea and story later, but as a short intro to the background. I think 2 to 3 month ago, sitting in the subway, i got an idea for creating a short movie. The theme matched pretty well to that challenge and now i got enough motivation to start. So the challenge is a perfect start on that.
At first i'm going to spend some time boxmodelling (like today) to find some shapes, forms i like to use for the image. After that i go over to look dev in 2D and from there i will create the detailed assets shading lighting texturing etc and of course the background story.
At first something about my background story:
In a distant future, humanity has used most of the ressources on earth. Live has changed drastically for the population. The atmosphere is full of toxic gases and the oxygen in the air is thin. The old cities like New York, Berlin,Tokyo etc have turned into ghost towns. A Company found a way out of that misery. They found a way to grow some kind of plant, that only uses carbon dyoxid and the sunlight without the need of water, to produce oxygen.
They built cities on top of excisting cities connected through giant towers that "feed" the population with the essential element.
The lower class population is living around the industrial towers, the high class further away. Domes and covered streets keeping the oxygen in the right place.

hope you're all working on your submissionsI finished the modeling and composition phase now. I know its late but i have to be satisfied with my concept and now i am. Hope you like it so far. i try to manage the texturing and rendering phase till the end of day.
