    Post Apocalyptic City Ruins

Here's an image I did a while ago. I wanted to upload a larger res version with a clay render to show more detail...

    See attached for high res.

Created in 3ds max, rendered using Vray, composited in photoshop. I used Forest Pack Lite for the trees and Ivy Generator for a few other bits of foliage.

    Here's a low res preview:

    Here's a clay:

    Also,

Here's an early test render to see if I could acheive the look I wanted...

    Here's a building test render:

A step by step on one of the other buildings:

The main building half way through production:

    And a wireframe:

seems to be a lot of rust on a building that doesn't appear to have much steel on the facade....Funny how that happens.

There's a ton of rusting metal under the facade and in the various frames around the facade.

EDIT: deleted due to inflammatory anger reflex!

This is excellent work, the amount of effort put in is clearly evident in the details

I think you should correct the moon on low res version it's so obviously pasted.
I think that Ivy doesn't look so good - there is defienietly a scale problem.
Scene has potential but it need some more work.

While I appreciate cleaning up the clutter Vel, you did delete a bunch of other people's comments that were not in question.

Oops, I'd uploaded the wrong file (regarding the moon). Amended that.

The Ivy was tricky. I replaced the single leaf texture with bunches of leaves to make it look more like a bush type texture but was never satisfied. If i'd have had a proxy ivy then I'd have been in business! But doubt such a plugin exists? Either way, all the foliage was from free plugins so really struggled.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Cool, does that use proxy rather than geometry? The site doesn't say.

You grow it and then proxy it if you need to.
