    Rules & Guidelines

    Welcome to the Evermotion Mechanical LIFE Competition

    1. "MECHANICAL LIFE” is the subject of this competition.
    2. The competition begins on 24th of April, 2012 (0:00 GMT +1) and will run till the end of 12th of June, 2012 (0:00 GMT +1).
    3. It is required to use NOX renderer (Download here). You can use any 3d software, but note, that you can export data to NOX only from 3ds max and Blender.
    4. Post processing inside Photoshop or other 2D software is allowed, but it is required to present a render without postproduction.
    5. Enter the Challenge by registering yourself on Evermotion forum: Register here
    6. To be qualified WIP (Work In Progress) images must be submitted during the Challenge. We encourage to post on the CHALLENGES forum as many WIP images as you can. The minimum requirement is to submit an image for each of these milestones – Concept Sketch or Reference Photo, Modeling, Texturing, Lighting and Rendering, Post Effects and Composing, Final Image.
    7. Post your WIPs by making a new thread in CHALANGES, EVERMOTION competitions section: Competition section on Evermotion forum. Competition section on Evermotion forum
    8. Multiple entries are not allowed but you can post up to three different camera angles for one scene (closeups for example)
    9. The work you submit to this Challenge must be your own personal work, groups and companies are not allowed.
    10. Hosting WIP images on other servers than evermotion is not allowed.
    11. Hosting final entries on other servers than evermotion is allowed.
    12. The main model must be self - made. Other models and textures can be pre-made, but you must credit everything you use.
    13. Submit your final entry before the close of the challenge (to avoid the last-minute rush - get your entry in early).
    14. Final submission resolution should be not lower than 800 x 600 px and no larger than 1200 x 800, you can rotate these dimensions.
    15. Final submission should have attached this blank info line:
    16. 3 winners and 3 distinctions will be chosen by the Judge team. You can find Judges' names below.
    17. Final images submitted after 12th of June, 2012 will not participate in the judging stage.
    18. Any imaging deemed to contain content that depicts explicit acts that are overtly violent, sexual, cruel or brutal will be disqualified.
    19. You must not publish the work during the Challenge outside the dedicated forum, you can link to it if you like.
    20. Evermotion may use every artwork published for competition, also WIP Images for NOX promotion. Evermotion agree to clearly credit the artist if any of his artwork is used.
    21. Artists may use their created images for personal promotion.
    22. Employees of sponsors and organizers cannot take a part in the challenge.
    23. The winners can be asked to write a short "making-of" tutorial.
    24. All users, who submit WIP images and final render, will get a quaranteed prize.

    If you do not agree with any of the above rules, please do not enter the Challenge.
