looks lk ur scene's going 4a worn-workplace feel,especially w the grime on ceilings.
if that's the case,imho the ceiling type u're using isn't the type u're going. u need a exposed slab look so it makes sense. that said,it'll look a lot better w added floor beams fr the 2nd story,where u can hang ur light fixtures.

To my best knowledge of buildings of that time, they would not have a uncovered brick wall. But they had walls covered with small rectangular glossy white or yellowish ceramic tiles.
I was wondering about that too, if you check post #3 which is a shot of the Bauhaus workshop from the 1930's there does seem to be a brick wall there, but perhaps it's been painted over?
Yep, I can see some kind of structured wall there, but it does not look the rough colorful red Dutch type of burned bricks. The color looks quite uniform and the surface is not very structured, more evenly. Maybe gray or white brick. However, industrial buildings in the greater Berlin area, to which the Bauhaus in Dessau was connected, were often built with that special red brick. But the Bauhaus wasn't using that style at all. My book of the Bauhaus Dessau, which your picture shows as an older interior shot, shows a similar room with a quite evenly made brick wall, painted white. So maybe what we see in that pic is unpainted brick wall? They also used a lot of gray colors to highlight certain parts of the buildings.
Yeah, I noticed that different parts of the building were painted different colours to signify their purpose, chances are that the brick we are seeing has been painted over and is different to the bricks I am showing in this shot. I have some AAndres shelving units against that wall too and they would look much better against a wall that's not so busy.
Tomorrow I will have the exact size and material of the bricks, maybe also a picture of the structure.

Aandres: I noticed in the rules for the challenge that we are not supposed to change the original texture of the shelving. Some of the units that I am using I have added textural variations although I have tried as best as I can to emulate the correct finishes that I see on your website.
Have you relaxed this rule somewhat?
The architect of the restoration at the Bauhaus Dessau, Mrs. Markgraf, will send me pictures of the correct surfaces, as soon as I have them I'll post them.

That's one of the things that really interests me about the whole Bauhaus concept, there is some contention as to it's purpose though. Some believe that Gropius' transparent design was not in the interest of free expression of creativity and a merging of disciplines. They say it was an expression of dictatorial power.
I tend to believe the former, regardless the diamonds go in.
