Lets start another speed modeling competition

This time you have less then 3 hours

Subject for this weeks is: SOFA

Contest conditions

1. DO not post your old models ! You have to create something new
2. Post sceenshots of the wireframe
3. You may post rendering but without textures or shaders.
Only 'clay' renders will be accepted.
4. Maximum time - 3 hours !

The price for first place as always : one of our CD's (can choose which, only Archinteriors, Archmodels or Textures4ever without Archshaders).

That's the competition I was waiting for! I love doing sofas!
Here's my entry. Losely modelled on Minotti.
Modelling time: a little over an hour. I saved time by modelling only a few elements, duplicating them and modifying them to build the whole sofa. Only the small pillow is an exact replica of the same mesh. The rest is all customised.
Of course, it helped that no texturing was involved, since unwrapping could easily have taken another few hours (I will unwrap it eventually though).
I always try to keep my meshes as low-poly as possible so that they can be used in crowded scenes without slowing things down. Without subdivision this one is just over 9,000 polys - just over 30,000 when subdivided.

Thanks Vel. Much appreciated. As I said, I love doing this stuff and I always try to model folds and stitches instead of using textures. Anyway, I'm sure the talented hardcore modellers who are active here will soon post much better stuff!

hi all,
here iam with first post for competiton, b'cause iam not good enough in modelling mesh. here i came up with sofa with storage concept, its my own design . its a multi purpose and effecient design for a sofa..

Modelling time : 25 mins (AutoCAD)
rendering time : 10 mins (Max)
