Thanks Pendzel
I've made a test of burning animated evermotion logo. It's a little bit longer than 3s, but it can be adjusted with few moves of mouse.

What do you think about it?
I followed some Deetee's tips, and now I'm using some volumetric textures, so the fire looks good on bright backgroundsI'm stiil working on colours, and I think I should change the animation of the emitter - it's moving a bit too fast now.

U'm waiting for some C&C![]()
Update
I'va added some smoke (lots of smoke, actualy)
Before you watch this animation imagine that the teapot you'll see is as big as one-family house
I've got some problem with codecks, so this time You'll have to chose between 2 files:
The uncompressed avi (rar'ed)
http://members.lycos.co.uk/kozioo/fireavi.rar
or the cinepak (radius) coded file (also rar'ed)
http://members.lycos.co.uk/kozioo/firec.rar
They both showe the same, but the avi is over 3 times bigger than the cinepak movie. Uncompressed avi has better quality of course![]()
You're getting there now! How do you spawn the smoke? It seams a little off, like - its not too fluent together with the fire. You could do an age test on the fire. At a given age it turns into facing particles, that grows bigger and fades away at the end, to give the smoke a fuller look, and a little more real.
Think you should add some more transparency to the smoke. It all depends what you want burning. Fuel/Oil etc burns very black and dense, while burning organic stuff tends to burn with a transparent smoke.
Its coming along nicely thoKeep up the good work
Now I'm using sphere particles for smoke. But as You suggest - I'll make some tests with facing particles (or I'll use them both at the same time? hmmm)
About the transparency... I wanted to create a really dense and black smoke. I think about burning an vehicle I made some time agoBut these are future plans. Now I have to work on the main part of this work - on the particles.
Thanks for suggestions and comments
edit
I forgot to add - the smoke is spawned as fully indepedent event. This is why it doesn't look "fluent" with the flames.
I think it's the final movie. Now I'll work on my second particle animationI'll post some tests soon. Feel free to post comments.
