I am trying to make phone skins and I am trying to find ways to do this without having to manually measure the device. Currently I am putting tape on the device, tracing it with sharpie, putting the tape on paper, and scanning it. When I open the scanned photo in illustrator, it is to scale, but it is dependent on my sharpie lines being accurate. The only files I can open right now is cinema3d I think, and I do not know if this can be done. Im wondering if there are ways to flatten the device to get the exact lines that I would need for cutting the paper. Any tips?
