Whola Lotta Loft! - Challenge 2015.

    Hello Everyone...
Since the begging of the competition I was waiting for this moment , because now I can sit , relax and enjoy all the great artworks that are posted on the forum. For this , I have to say thank you Evermotion.

I thought I couldn't make it to the deadline but somehow I did.I'm glad that my work will be in this forum so it will be seen by other people except me.

Here I will send the final Image , and meanwhile I will try to prepare the other attachments.
    Goodluck

PS. If you have the possibility to tilt your monitor , please do it because this image does not look the same as you are seeing it in a full resolution

Here is some stuff to mention :
Softwares were 3dsmax , vray and photoshop.

I begin with sketching and I had the idea to make an image with a 1 point perspective which on the vanishing point there is a person standing:

While I was drawing this conceptual sketch , I changed my mind to add symmetry to the game.

I start to making a very basic sketch and tried to find a good composition in max , I knew that I want to have 3 different rooms which a fragment of them is visible in a single shot.

I wanted to differentiate this 3 rooms by colors , and I wanted to emphasize the second room which the hero is standing on.
So I started to shape the windows to achieve the lighting that I want

Warmer colors for the inside and I wanted to frame my picture with bluish colors:

For the lighting I spend hours to find the right combination :
So I Use a Simple sunlight and Sky and then I make a big wall and create holes in to that until I find the lighting that I like (just like in real life :P )

And after that I start to create plane lights with different values and color temperatures on certain spots which I want to have shiny Specular highlights or the places which I want to emphasize the geometry.

Nothing Fancy for the Shaders :
Mostly I use Vray material with couple of dirt layers and I will try to find out a reasonable amount of realism /

due to lack of fancy hardware I learned to render with less ray bounces and scattering but in a higher resolution And here is the raw render:
I also render a couple of elements like ExteraTex , AO , reflection or diffuse which can be helpful in Post

And one thing to mention , because I wanted this image to have a more dramatic feeling so I didn't use Gamma 2.2 , instead I changed my textures output values to 2.2 ( I don't know if this is scientifically right ) but in my experiment I had a less detail in certain places which in this case is good!

I used apply Image to have control over luminosity of my image to take control over each light channel and achieve desired color , as well of some other tweaking with curves , and etc.
Then I naturalized my colors and after that I started to Paint my desired colors over the image.(Some sort of color grading)
